It was on 14th may 1927,that the foundation stone of st.josephs convent,manjapra was laid.after the completion of construction,the convent was blessed by bishop mar Augustine kandathil on 7th October 1928. Mother mariam magdelene was the first suprrior of the convent along with other first members-sr.jelthrud ,sr.marianjala, sr.elanna.

When st.philominas hospital adjacent to the manjapra parish church was started,sisters from st.josephs convent used to render their service there. For the convenience of these nurse sisters was established another convent Very close to the hospital so that they sister will have a better time table that facile tates their hospital service.right now the hospital is not function g And hence the asha bhavan convent service as a prayer house.

On the same day of the blessing of the new blessing of the new building of the convent,on 1942,November 30,bishop,mar Augustine kandathil,laid the foundation stone for the house of girls who are enter orphan or poor.this hosue Karunalayamwas blessed on 1957may 13 and named after our lady of mercy;85

With the permission of the superior general,the sisters bought St.Mary’s L P school and the surrounding land on 14/7/1960.the school shines bright not only in education but also in all other co-curricular activities. Recently the presentsr.rany grace is the headmisters of this school. Nuseryschool: towards the south of the convent ,the foundation was laid for the nusery school on 27th may 1976.it was officially inaugurated on 6th december1976.since 1999this nursery is function as on affiliated institution of st.marys lp school.

It was on 7th july 2000, the inauguration of jyothis schoolbuilding was done.it has been raised to an ICSE school for the welfare of manjapra village.Sr.Margret is the driving force of the school as the headmistress now. .
